We give a lot of tips on moving on our site but I was just reading some stuff online about foreclousures and I was amazed at some celebrities that are having a problem selling their homes.

When Aaaron Spelling passed his house was listed for $150 million. His house was considered the most expensive peiece of real estate in the country. His wife just sold the place for $85 million. That is almost half price, scary thought for the common people like us to lose 65 million dollars.

Jennifer Anniston sold her Beverely Hills mansion for $35 million which is over 15% below her $42 million dollar pricetag that property was being sold for.

In a strange twist it also happened to Anniston’s ex Brad Pitt who sold his house for $13.5 million. This was 24% less that the asking price of $18 million he was asking for.

Hulk Hogan’s house was on the market for $9 million down from his asking price of $25 million and he still has no takers.

Diet queen Jenny Craig is trying to sell her house for $25 million and hasn’t sold. It was listed for more last year.

It is tough everywhere and I hope you are not experiencing the same as these celbrities who are in foreclousre actors Nicolas Cage and Burt Reynolds, singer Toni Braxton and former NBA star Allen Iverson.

You would think that you could use any old blanket or a sheet but that is not always a good idea.

Moving blankets are made much stronger then that old blanket your grandma made that you hate. Sure you could use it but moving blankets are made much much stronger and odds are they are made to handle the toughest of jobs.

Industrial built moving blankets are made of tiny fibers that also help keep your valuable furniture from getting damaged by those unexpected things that can happen during transportation to your new place. It pays to not only get quality blankets since you don’t want to replace the item because it was damaged during shipping.

Before you can enjoy it, you will have to survive the tough rigors of moving. It is a stressful time for everyone in the family patience is appreciated by all parties involved. If you have kids be aware it is really stressful for them, you are taking away the stability of their world.

When I moved for the first time with my now ex wife we fought over everything during the move. What is worse is we did it in front of the kids. We would have been better off just mumbling under our breaths at one another and letting it go.

Our kids were 9 and 13 when we decided to pick up and move half way across the country to be closer to my inlaws. I had just been laid off from my job and that was enough stress for me but the job offered from my wifes uncle Jeff was enough to at least know I had work. My wife didn’t help with the stress as she wanted to bring everything but the kitchen sink with her. We even packed the 3 extra rolls of toilet paper from the bathroom.

One thing that I did right was explain to the kids that they would have friends right away as there was plenty of cousins where we were moving to. What made the move go a little better was I gav eeach kid a job to keep them occupied. We let each kid pack their own stuff which made them feel like they were helping.

Just by doing that it made them look forward to the move. It was also good because they didn’t get to see all the fighting that Ex-wife and I were really doing.

Once we were on the move I gave them the job of looking for license plates as we went along to see if they can find one from the new state we were going to. I told them once we found someone with a California license plate we can follow them to California because they know the way and we won’t get lost. Yes it actually worked quite well. The kids worked as a team and kept them from bickering about the long ride.

If I was Frank I would hire one also. I had him write me up the whole story.

Cheap Moving Boxes – Not for me anymore

When looking for the cheapest moving boxes you are asking for trouble. Let me tell you what happened to me when I thought I knew it all and decided to get free boxes from my local grocery store. My wife kept telling me to go online and buy some moving boxes but I didn’t listen to her and I have been paying for it ever since. I think I am being haunted by a ghost because I was being really cheap.

My wife’s aunt Florence loved my wife as if she was her own daughter. Just before she passed away she gave my wife a porcelain vase that was brought over on the ship with her when she came to the United States as a child. This thing was in the family for a long time and she was honored that she was the one to get it. All her sisters were jealous of her.

My wife loved this thing and kept it on it’s own little shelf with it’s own doilies which even I was not allowed to touch. That thing was practically a kid to us, My wife even talked to it. I know that sounds crazy but you know how one could get when they are attached to something after all I talk to my car. When we decided to move to a new town that is when all the trouble started with me and my cheap moving box.

We arrived at our new house and we only unpacked what we needed as we were tired from being in the rental truck all day and half the night. I took out the last box that we put on the truck that had the blow up mattress in it and started to set it up in the living room so we could get some sleep.

My wife insisted that I go out to the truck and bring in the porcelain vase that her aunt gave her. I was tired but she insisted that it had to be with her since she has had it with her her whole life and it shouldn’t spent the night in a rental truck. I reluctantly put on my coat and went out to the truck and was whispering under my breath that I had to go out in the cold and get this thing. My wife decided she was going to help and hold the front door open as I carried in the box that I was starting to hate.

I got the box out of the truck and walked up the driveway on the wet grass and up on to the front porch. That is when my world changed. The bottom of the box gave way and the porcelain vase came out the bottom. It broke into what seemed like a million pieces all over the front porch. My wife broke into tears and started screaming at me as you can imagine. I started to block them out as I was hearing them. Of course it was all my fault because I was trying to save money on moving boxes.

My wife has never forgiven me even though it has been about 5 years now that we are in the new house and my great moving boxes are long gone. Whenever she gets mad at me I hear the whole story over and over again. That is not the worst part of it. I also think that her aunt Florence is haunting the new house that we moved into. In the dead of night you can hear strange noises coming from the attic. Of course my wife doesn’t hear anything and she says that I am crazy. I made the mistake of telling my wife that I think it’s her aunt Florence that is haunting us. She says well I wasn’t the cheap one so you have to pay for getting moving boxes for free. Sometimes I even think she is right about it.

So I learned a lesson the hard way and if I ever move into a new house I will not even try to save money on moving boxes. It just isn’t worth the price that I paid over the years all because I was being an ego type guy and refusing to spend money on something that was free.

There is nothing free in this life. Trust me on that one.
